Kanhuraj-MaharajIn a village called ‘Kendur’ in Shirur taluka of Pune district, Shri Dnyaneshwar Maharaj, whom he affectionately and respectfully called ‘Kaka’, was a great saint of the Kanhuraj Warkari Sant Kanhopathak was a Brahmin of the Yerjuvedi clan and had royal status.

Since Kanhopathak was a Siddhayogi, at the time of Dnyaneshwar’s Samadhi, Saint Namdev Maharaj was not able to perform the kirtan due to deep sorrow. Therefore, when Namdev could not perform Kirtan, on demand from all Sant Kanhopathak perform kirtan on Dnyaneshwar’s Samadhi.

Sadhguru Nagesh gave a vision and ordered Sant Kanhoraj to go to the forest and do sadhana. Accordingly, he performed penance on a rock by a stream in the forest at Pimpalkhore near Kendur village, from which he attained many achievements. He then went on to study Gurugrahi Vedanta and completed his studies in a very short period of time due to his sharp intellect and single-mindedness. Later, his parents arranged his marriage. The mother-in-law and father-in-law were happy because of their daughter in law was very good. Kanhoraj family life was very smooth, but Kanhoraj, who was born apathetic, enjoy such life? Sadhana started again by going to Pimpalkhore and in the rest of the time he was preaching about Dharmacharan and Shastramarga in the society. Thus, after a period of 10-12 years, they had to face another marriage due to the insistence of their parents and relatives. The two wives were living happily together so their life was very happy. After some time he lost his parents. By the grace of god, he lived in the world and behaved like a pure scripture and set an example before the society.
